Update on Israel and Hamas Conflict

A truce between Israel and Hamas reportedly began at 7 a.m. local time on Friday. Hostages held in Gaza are expected to be released following a diplomatic deal. The pause in fighting, part of a negotiated agreement, seemed to be taking effect despite initial sounds of conflict. Aid trucks have entered Gaza, and the release of hostages is anticipated. The truce marks a break in hostilities after weeks of conflict. The agreement also addresses humanitarian support for Gaza. The total number of people killed in Gaza since October 7 is reported to be 14,854. Hostages, the release of prisoners, and increased humanitarian aid are key components of the deal.
