Arsenal Put in a Tight Spot at Atalanta as Raya's Incredible Save Keeps Arsenal Champions Leagues Hopes Alive!

One of the top EPL clubs in recent times Arsenal in their first champions league outing of the season failed to secure 3 points away from home as they were held tight by Atalanta of Serie A. Fans would have expected that Arsenal would get past Atalanta easily, but reverse was the case.

The biggest highlight of the game was push coming to shove as Raya had to save Arsenal in their first game in the UEFA Champions League by denying  Retegui of Atalanta a chance to score through the spot. Arsenal's first choice goalie has been on fire since the beginning of the new season, having four cleansheets to his name in all competitions already.

David Raya who had saved 4 of his last 8 penalties when asked about how he was able to pull the save off acknowledged his instincts and the amount of work he had put in training on saving spot kicks listening to what the goalie coach tells him to do. Raya was also able to complete a double save on the penalty as he was also able to  parry the rebound which makes the save one of the best saves yet of the Arsenal's first choice goalie.

Arsenal looks to press on and score more goals to put them a step further in their title challenge as they face Pep's Manchester City, the last time they played City at the Etihad it ended stale. Raya once again has proved himself to be a key member of the squad, proving Mikel Arteta right in his decision to ditch former goalie Aaron Ramsdale. Should Mikel Arteta's men steal the win at the Etihad this sunday, Arsenal would clinch the top spot on the EPL table.
