5 killed in Nashville plane crash

Five individuals lost their lives in a single-engine plane crash near an interstate highway in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday night. The pilot, experiencing engine trouble, made an emergency call to John C. Tune Airport at around 7:40 p.m. They were initially cleared for an emergency landing but later reported that the aircraft wouldn't reach the airport. The pilot communicated a distressing "My engine shut down" message to air traffic control shortly before the tragic crash.

Authorities from the Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed the fatalities. The incident highlights the challenges faced during emergency situations and underscores the risks associated with aviation emergencies, even with swift responses from both the pilot and air traffic control.
