Ex-Newcastle star Cheick Tiote ‘collapses and dies

Former Premier League player Cheick Tiote has died at the age of 30 after reportedly collapsing during a training session in China.

Tiote, who joined Chinese second division side Beijing Enterprises earlier in the year, was reportedly rushed to hospital on Monday.

However, it has been confirmed that the Ivorian had passed away.

Tiote spent seven years at Newcastle United after signing from FC Twente in 2010, playing over 150 games for the club.
