Mandla Hlatshwayo's death: Police arrest suspects

Police in South Africa say they have arrested four people in connection with the murder of former actor on popular local TV series Generation Mandla Hlatshwayo and his friend Oupa Duma.
The two were shot after confronting a group of men who had robbed women of their mobile phones in a pub in Soweto.
“As the SAPS we are pleased to report that our members have effected the arrest of four people in connection with the murder of Mandla Hlatswayo and another man in Soweto over the weekend,” SAPS spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said.
The suspects were found in possession of drugs and an unlicensed gun.
“Police are questioning the suspects to see if they can link them to the shooting,” says the police’s Lungelo Dlamini.
Tributes have been pouring in for the star who was also a DJ on local radio station Jozi FM. Hlatshwayo and his friend were killed on Sunday night at a pub in Pimville, Soweto by gunmen who were carrying out a robbery attack at the scene. A rescue mission gone wrong saw the two men shot dead while trying to help some women who were being robbed.
The 40-year-old has been described as a selfless man by those who knew him.
Sadly and in an ironic twist, 18 years ago, Hlatshwayo’s father was killed in the same manner and this has left family members wondering whether it is bad luck following them.
