German killer nurse suspected in 84 new murder cases

A German male nurse sentenced to life imprisonment two years ago for killing two patients, may face new charges as a suspect in 84 more murders.
Niels Hoegel, 40, was jailed in February 2015 for killing two intensive-care unit patients with lethal drug overdose at the Delmenhorst hospital near northern city of Bremen.
The police said on Monday that investigators exhuming and analyzing more bodies had so far found evidence of “84 more murders”, which could make Hoegel one of the country’s worst serial killers.

No more visa to three African countries - US

The United States plans to stop issuing visas to citizens from four countries that it says aren’t accepting deported citizens.
The list includes three African countries — Eritrea, Guinea and Sierra Leone — as well as Cambodia. The U.S. has suspended visas twice before under previous administrations in efforts to push deportations forward.
Last week, the Department of Homeland Security notified the Department of State that the four countries are refusing to accept or are unreasonably delaying the acceptance of nationals deemed to be in the United States illegally, a violation of section 243(d) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Now, the State Department is evaluating how to implement the order.

Peyton West, teen who received heart transplant, dies on first day of school

Peyton West's parents would never have thought that his first day of school this year was going to be his last.
The 13-year-old had survived a heart transplant in March and spent the past five months living a full and fun life, said his father, Corey West. He developed a passion for food, especially Mexican. Soccer became his favorite sport, and he would watch FC Cincinnati professional games with his dad. It wasn't a coincidence that it had been his heart donor, Derek's, favorite sport, too.
"Peyton thought, 'hey, if Derek loved soccer, then I love soccer,' " West said.
Peyton woke up on Thursday excited for his first day of eighth grade in Goshen, Ohio. He was being goofy, West said, and the family took a photo of him smiling on their front porch. But 15 minutes later, when older brother Ethan dropped him off at school, everything changed.
He told Ethan he didn't feel well and then collapsed, West said. Ethan carried him to the school nurse's office. An ambulance rushed the boy to the hospital before his mother, Melissa, joined them.
The medics told Melissa West that they were quick to leave because Peyton's heart had stopped and it was a sight that no mother should see, West said.
Doctors tried for 2½ hours to revive him, but Peyton died at the hospital.

Iran President takes oat for second term

Hassan Rouhani has been sworn in for a second term in office in a Tehran ceremony over the weekend that highlighted European support for the nuclear deal with the west despite Donald Trump’s threats to unilaterally withdraw from the agreement.
Rouhani, who was re-elected in a landslide victory in May, took an oath before parliamentarians and foreign dignitaries, including the EU foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini, and senior diplomats from the UK, France and Germany.
The president said in his speech, which was aired live on the national television, that “Iran would not be the first to pull out of the nuclear deal, but it will not remain silent about the US repeated violations of the accord”.
